MageMount II is rail-less solar mounting system that is installed like a rail-based solar mounting system with separate roof attachments and interlocking module connectors. It provides a complete solar mounting solution with roof attachments for all types of sloped roofs at lower cost and reduced installation time with familiar and fewer components. It doesn't require rails or clamps and is compatible with most solar modules designed with focus on easing installation and reducing installation time and cost. MageMount II rail-less solar mounting system doesn't require solar module with MageFrame and can be installed with most solar modules available in the market.

Modules Bracket

Module bracket can be attached to solar module frame of most common solar modules. It has a top component and a bottom component. The top component has top flange that is slightly tilted lower at the tip and also has two bolts. The bottom component has hook-shaped end that can slide and enclose the inner side of the solar module frame bottom. When the two components are tightened with two bolts, the module bracket is secured to the solar module frame. Through an embedded bolt, roof attachment and other mounting component can be attached to the solar module.

Features and Benefits

  • Separate from module connector.
  • Can be installed at any location along module frame.
  • Can be attached to modules structurally and electrically.
  • Built-in bonding.
  • Cost-effective and versatile device to attach module to roof attachment.

Module Connectors

A module connector connects two adjacent solar modules. A module connector has a top part and a bottom part that connect two solar modules. The top part has a wider top component and can be attached to a solar module and the bottom part has a wider bottom component and can be attached to another solar module. This allows two adjacent solar modules to be connected with a bolt through the top part and the bottom part. Each part of a module connector has integrated multiple-use bonding pins. Once the two solar modules are connected through the tightened two parts, the two solar modules are bonded through the module connector.

Features and Benefits

  • Separate from roof attachment.
  • Can be installed at any location along module edges.
  • Simple drop-down assembly.
  • Interlock modules structurally and electrically.
  • Built-in bonding.
  • Extremely cost-effective and easy-to-install module-connecting device.

Roof Attachments

All roof attachments are attached to module through Module Bracket for MageMount II system. Module Bracket has built-in bonding capability. Module Bracket has built-in bonding pins that pierce into module frame and create bonding between Module Bracket and module frame when it is tightened. Since Module Bracket is bonded with rest of roof attachment, therefore, roof attachment is bonded to the module frame once Module Bracket is tightened. The bonding pins on Module Bracket can be used multiple times.

Composition Shingle Roof

Comp Foot and Tall Comp Foot are roof attachments on composition shingle roofs. They are the most popular and common roof attachments that are very easy to install and absolutely waterproof.

Features and Benefits

  • Unique patented flashing
  • Absolutely waterproof
  • Easy to install
  • L bracket’s lateral position and module height can be adjusted through slots during module installation
  • Built-in bonding
  • Lower cost and reduced installation time

Tile Roof

Tile Foot is roof attachment for installation on tile roofs. It is the most popular tile roof attachment and comes with flashing. It can be used on flat tile roof and curved tile roof with or without batten installed.

Long Tile Foot is roof attachment for installation on tile roofs. It is heavy-duty tile foot with extended L bracket that can be attached to module when the module edge is not near the tile head-lap area. It can be used on flat tile roof and curved tile roof with or without batten installed.

Double Tile Feet is the ultimate roof attachment for installation on tile roofs. It has two tile feet supporting the L bracket on a connecting strip. The L bracket can be positioned at any location to be attached to module when the module edge is in the middle of tiles. It can be used on flat tile roof and curved tile roof with or without batten installed.

Features and Benefits

  • Complete roof attachment solutions for tile roof.
  • Double flashing.
  • Easy to install.
  • Adjust L bracket’s lateral position and module height through slots during module installation.
  • Lower cost and reduced installation time.
  • Built-in bonding.

Stone-Coated Steel Roof

Steel-Roof Tile Foot is roof attachment for installation on stone-coated steel roofs. It is height-adjustable and fits all stone-coated steel roofs with different profiles. It comes with flashing and is also available with long L bracket and double tile feet.

Features and Benefits

  • Complete roof attachment solutions for stone-coated steel roof.
  • Double flashing.
  • Easy to install.

Accessories

Accessory Bracket is attached to a module with a flange bolt, through which microinverter, optimizer, etc. can be attached to the back of the module.

Skirt is attached to the front row of a solar array for aesthetic looking. It comes with mounting brackets, end caps and screws.

Cable Clip can be clipped to a module and each has two loops that can hold both module cable and microinverter cable. There are two types of cable clips.

Grounding Lug is attached to a module and there is only one grounding lug needed for one solar array.

Features and Benefits

  • As strong as rail-based system.
  • Fewer roof penetrations.
  • Lower cost and reduced installation time.
  • Built-in bonding in all components.
